How To Remove Image Background in Kixxl Editor?
Image Background Detection & Removal Feature
In Kixxl builder (editor), Image Background detection & removal is a feature that automatically detects and remove the unwanted background from an uploaded image, leaving only the main artwork, logo, or design visible. It ensures that your design looks clean and professional when placed on a gang sheet.
How This Feature Works?
When you upload a design or image to Kixxl, the app automatically checks whether the image contains a background. If a background is detected, a pop-up appears immediately with two options:
- Fix Now – Remove the background before adding the image to your sheet.
- Skip – Continue using the image without making any changes.
If you select Fix Now, you will be redirected to the Image Customization window. Here, click the Background Removal option to automatically remove the image background.
Once you’re satisfied with the result, save the edited version and add it to your gang sheet.
How to Enable Background Removal feature in Kixxl?
This feature in Kixxl editor is controlled by the shop admin. Customers will only see this feature in the editor if it is enabled in settings by the admin.
- Log in to your Kixxl admin dashboard in Shopify and select Products.
- In the Products tab, you’ll see already configured products.
- Select the product for which you want to enable the “Background Detection & Removal” option.
- In the product’s Image Related Settings, select “Show” under “background remove option. (You need to enable this option on each product separately.)
Likewise, if the value is set to “don’t show”, customers will not have the option to remove background from their uploaded images. - Now, the Background Remove button will be visible in the Kixxl Editor for customers to use.
- Click “update” to save the changes.
Go to the Kixxl Editor and use the feature to confirm that it is enabled correctly.
BG Removal Results: Loads Progressively Now
When Kixxl removes the background from an image, the processed results are now loaded progressively inside the editor. With this feature, users can preview the available options instantly, select the version that best suits their design, and then save and add it to the canvas.
This enhancement speeds up the editing process and gives users more flexibility when choosing the best background removal result.
