How to Remove A Colour from Your Designs/Images?
You can remove color from a design/image in two ways:
- Using the “Remove Color” feature.
- Using the “Knockout Color” feature.
1. Using the “Remove Color” Feature:
1. Right-click on the image and select the “Remove color” option. Choose the color you want to remove.
2. You can type a color code manually (the color you want to remove) or select the “color picker” tool.
3. Place the color picker on the image to select the color (you want to remove).
4. You can “Replace Selected Color with” another color. (optional)
5. Click “Apply Changes”. (The color will be removed from the image.)
6. Click “Reset” if you want to undo the changes.
2. Using The “Knockout Color” Feature
The Knockout Color Feature:
This feature in Kixxl’s editor helps you remove a specific color from the design so it doesn’t print— leaving that area transparent (knocked out). This is useful especially when you’re printing designs that have overlapping elements or backgrounds.
In addition to this, the knockout color feature:
- Prevents unnecessary printing of large solid areas (like white blocks) that don’t add value to the final product, saving ink & other resources.
- Helps the design blend seamlessly with the garment or surface instead of carrying a boxy background.
How Does Knockout Work in Kixxl Editor?
- Go to the Kixxl editor and upload your images. Also, you can choose any image from Kixxl’s image library.
- Select the image, and click the “Halftone Image” button on the right side of the menu bar.
- At the Kixxl’s halftoning tab, select the “Knockout Color” option.
- You can type a color code manually (the color you want to remove) OR select the “Color Picker” tool.
- Place the color picker over the image to select the color you want to remove.
- Decide the knockout percentage (how many % you want that color to get removed from the image).
However, this is optional. - Click “Generate Halftone”. The chosen color will be removed, and the image will be halftoned.
- Click “Save & Replace on Canvas”.
- Also, you can add this (edited image) to the image library.
